The most available Kia models right now are Carnival, Sorento, K5, Ray. Most common body types: SUV, RV, City Car. Korean used cars sell for less than their equivalents in the Gulf, Europe or Latin America because Koreans replace cars quickly — not because of condition — which is what makes importing a Kia from Korea a smart buy for private buyers and dealers alike.

Kia's Korean names: the K-series and the Morning

Kia names many cars differently in Korea. The sedans use the K-series: the K3 is the Cerato, the K5 was sold abroad as the Optima until 2020, the K7 is the Cadenza (replaced by the K8 in 2021) and the K9 was the Quoris/K900. The Morning is the Picanto.

The SUVs and the van keep their names: Sportage, Sorento and Carnival. The boxy Ray light car is Korea-only.

Choosing a Korean-market Kia

As with Hyundai, Korean engines lean towards turbo petrols, hybrids, diesels and LPG, while the Gulf gets larger petrol engines; each model page names the closest match. The K5, K7 and Morning are common as fleet and LPG cars, so we read the usage history and fuel type in the inspection report for you before you bid.

The top Korean trims (Signature, and the Gravity and Noblesse packages) carry equipment that is often optional or unavailable on Gulf cars.

Kia parts and service

Kia shares engines and many parts with Hyundai and has dealers across the Gulf and beyond. Korea-specific parts we supply from Korea through our Kia parts service, matched by VIN.
