Staria: the successor of the Grand Starex (H-1)

The Staria replaced the Grand Starex, sold in the Gulf as the H-1, in 2021. Korea sells three body types: the Lounge (the premium passenger version, with 7 or 9 seats and the reclining second-row seats on the 7-seater), the Tourer (9 or 11 seats) and the Cargo van (3 or 5 seats).

Korean engines are the 2.2 CRDi diesel and the 3.5 LPG (LPi); a 1.6 turbo hybrid joined in 2025. Gulf Starias use the 3.5 petrol, which Korea does not sell, so most Korean Starias in the auction are diesel or LPG.

What to check before you bid

Starias are used by Korean shuttle, hotel and chauffeur companies, so check the usage history in the inspection report: business-use vans often have high mileage. Confirm the body type and seat count from the listing photos, since a Lounge and a Tourer look alike from outside but are very different inside.

Fuel matters more than usual here: confirm diesel or LPG in the report, and make sure the fuel suits your country before you bid. Check the sliding doors and rear bumper in the panel section, the usual repairs on a van.

Shipping a Staria

The Staria is a full-size van, so the sedan-size freight rate in our calculator does not apply: freight is charged by volume. Send us the listing and we quote RoRo or container freight to your port.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a used Hyundai Staria in Korea?

Most Hyundai Staria cars in the Korean auction right now (80% of listings) are priced between $13,623 and $28,913, with a median of $18,768 — half cost $18,768 or less. These are auction prices in Korea before shipping and customs; the exact price depends on year, mileage and trim.

How much does it cost to import a Hyundai Staria from Korea to Saudi Arabia?

Landed cost = auction price + Korean export fees and inland transport + sea freight to Jeddah or Dammam + our commission. It excludes Saudi Arabia's customs duties, taxes and port clearance, which your customs broker handles on arrival. The calculator's freight rates are for a sedan-size car; larger vehicles such as SUVs and vans cost more to ship because freight is charged by volume. Use the import cost calculator for an instant estimate, then we send you a final written quote.

Calculate import cost
How long does shipping a Hyundai Staria from Korea to Saudi Arabia take?

Sailing from Busan to Jeddah or Dammam takes about 25–35 days depending on the shipping line, plus 3–5 days for export de-registration and preparation in Korea and the clearance days at the arrival port. You can ship RoRo (cheaper and faster to load) or in a container (more protection).

Importing from Korea to Saudi Arabia: full guide
Does a Korean-market Hyundai Staria meet Saudi Arabia's import requirements?

That depends on the specific car and on the rules in force when you import: requirements such as vehicle age and specification differ by country and change over time. So before you pay, we confirm the current requirements for the exact car you choose, and we prepare the export certificate, commercial invoice, bill of lading and inspection report your customs broker uses to clear it on arrival.

Can I inspect a Hyundai Staria before buying?

Yes — we send the official inspection report and all photos, and an additional independent inspection can be arranged before payment.

Is the Staria the new H-1?

Yes. The Staria replaced the Grand Starex, which the Gulf knew as the H-1, from 2021. Older Grand Starex vans are also in the auction on their own page.

Can I get a petrol Staria from Korea?

Korea sells the Staria as a 2.2 diesel, a 3.5 LPG and, from 2025, a hybrid; the Gulf 3.5 petrol is not a Korean-market engine. Choose the diesel if your country has good low-sulphur diesel, otherwise ask us before bidding on an LPG van.
