The generations on offer
The current Sorento (MQ4) dates from 2020, facelifted in 2023. The Santa Fe's new MX5 generation arrived in 2023 with a boxy design and more cabin space, while the previous TM (2018–2023) is much cheaper and plentiful in the auction. On a mid budget, a facelifted Santa Fe TM is a strong rival to the Sorento MQ4.
Engines and the Gulf
Sorento MQ4 in Korea: 2.2 diesel, 2.5 turbo petrol and 1.6 turbo hybrid. Santa Fe MX5: 2.5 turbo petrol and hybrid only. For Gulf buyers the 2.5 turbo petrol matches what dealers sell; the diesel suits only countries with low-sulphur diesel.
Seats and shipping
Both come with 5, 6 or 7 seats; confirm the count in the listing and the inspection report. Both are mid-size SUVs that ship above the calculator's sedan rate because freight is charged by volume, so ask us for the exact price to your port.
