G80 generations in the Korean auction

Two generations are listed: the DH (2016–2020, the car that began life as the Hyundai Genesis sedan in 2013) and the RG3 (2020 onwards, facelifted in 2024), the one with the crest grille and the two-line lights that Genesis sells in the Gulf.

Korean RG3 engines: a 2.5 T-GDI, a 3.5 T-GDI V6 and a 2.2 diesel, plus the Electrified G80. The DH used 3.3 and 3.8 V6 petrols and a 3.3 turbo in the G80 Sport. Gulf G80s are the 2.5 and 3.5 turbo petrols, so both RG3 petrols match.

What to check before you bid

G80s are executive and company cars in Korea: many are low-mileage with dealer service history, and the inspection report shows the usage history and any panel replacements. Options matter on resale: the Nappa leather, the Lexicon audio, the rear-seat package and AWD each add value in the Gulf.

Genesis in Korea sells the car with Korean-language navigation and Genesis Connected Services tied to Korean accounts; phone mirroring works, and we can confirm the head-unit version from the listing.

Why the Korean G80 suits Gulf buyers

Genesis has dealers across the Gulf, so service and parts for the RG3 petrols are routine, and Korean-spec cars are usually higher-trim than export cars. The G80 ships as a sedan-size car, so the calculator's freight rates apply, though a container is the usual choice for a car at this price.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a used Genesis G80 in Korea?

Most Genesis G80 cars in the Korean auction right now (80% of listings) are priced between $9,420 and $37,319, with a median of $21,667 — half cost $21,667 or less. These are auction prices in Korea before shipping and customs; the exact price depends on year, mileage and trim.

How much does it cost to import a Genesis G80 from Korea to Saudi Arabia?

As an indicative example at our calculator rates for a sedan-size car (updated 2026-07), a Genesis G80 at the median auction price of $21,667 comes to about $24,600 to Jeddah on the Red Sea or $24,400 to Dammam on the Arabian Gulf. That covers the car, Korean export fees, sea freight and our service commission; it excludes Saudi Arabia's customs duties, taxes and port clearance, which your customs broker handles on arrival. Enter any car's price in the import cost calculator, then we send you a final written quote on WhatsApp.

Calculate import cost
How long does shipping a Genesis G80 from Korea to Saudi Arabia take?

Sailing from Busan to Jeddah or Dammam takes about 25–35 days depending on the shipping line, plus 3–5 days for export de-registration and preparation in Korea and the clearance days at the arrival port. You can ship RoRo (cheaper and faster to load) or in a container (more protection).

Importing from Korea to Saudi Arabia: full guide
Does a Korean-market Genesis G80 meet Saudi Arabia's import requirements?

That depends on the specific car and on the rules in force when you import: requirements such as vehicle age and specification differ by country and change over time. So before you pay, we confirm the current requirements for the exact car you choose, and we prepare the export certificate, commercial invoice, bill of lading and inspection report your customs broker uses to clear it on arrival.

Can I inspect a Genesis G80 before buying?

Yes — we send the official inspection report and all photos, and an additional independent inspection can be arranged before payment.

Which G80 engine for the Gulf?

The 2.5 turbo or the 3.5 turbo V6: both are the engines Genesis sells in the Gulf. The 2.2 diesel is Korea-only and the DH 3.3/3.8 V6 petrols are older but also served by Gulf dealers.

Is the old Hyundai Genesis DH the same car as the Genesis G80 DH?

Yes: the DH was launched as the Hyundai Genesis in 2013 and renamed Genesis G80 in 2016 when the brand was spun off. The auction lists both names; the mechanical parts are the same.
